    Duties & Opportunities

    • Student Duties: Students are required to participate in weekly call and weekend rounds as assigned by the preceptor or service
    • Didactic Opportunities: Students are required to participate in Wednesday afternoon Didactics from Noon-5 pm at AdventHealth East; quaterly NMM Didactics on Monday mornings from 9 am to Noon at AdventHealth East
    • OMT/OPP Opportunities: Students are required to participate in weekly Didactics on Monday mornings at AdventHealth East during OMM clerkships

    Unique Site Characteristics

    • Application through VSLO required for fourth-year non-core student clerkships
    • Background Security Check required annually
    • BLS and ACLS certifications must be current
    • Drug Screen required prior to third year
    • Medical Student Clerkship Application required for clerkships with non-participant AdventHealth affiliated preceptors
    • NBOME COMAT Subject Exams taken at a Prometric Testing Center (testing accommodations other than extra time may not be available)
    • OMM selective required and assigned by core site
    • Orientation provided on the first day of each clerkship
    • Physical exam required fourth-year
    • Site unable to accept global track students
    • Site unable to guarantee military track students can complete clerkships away during year three
    • TB screening required annually (approximately $20)
    • TB Mask Fit required annually and provided on site, at cost to student (approximately $45)
    • Travel may be required for third-year Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA)
